Kintsugi Heart Art Print 5x7
This art print design is inspired by the recreated heART art healing workshop I facilitate for REMADE. It serves as a personal reminder (or even a gift) that scars and brokenness can be made beautiful and part of our being made whole. (necklace pictured is sold separately)
10% of each necklace sold is donated to REMADEformore.org , working to create a future of hope, free of trafficking + exploitation serving the Twin Cities and surrounding areas of MN.
“Kintsugi”
word meaning: golden seams
an ancient Japanese process used for ceramic restoration. It is a technique where tree-sap is used to bond the broken pieces of a vessel to make it whole again. At the end of this creative process, the bond dries, and the seams are not hidden to make the vessel appear as it did before broken. Instead, the seams are highlighted beautifully in gold, highlighting that the vessel had shattered and has been mended in gold.
When God mends us together, He does not make us as we once were, although the old can be seen in part. He makes us into a new creation, from what once was, where our brokenness reveals His beautiful golden glory in our lives. A broken vessel that stands mended is a message of hope to those who feel as if their lives are shattered in pieces.
